Pediatric Dentistry

The American Dental Association (ADA) recommends children visit the dentist within 6 months of their first tooth or by the age of 1, whichever comes first. This seems early, but the sooner your child meets us, the quicker they are able to feel comfortable in this new environment. It allows us to evaluate the development of your child’s mouth and answer any questions you may have regarding their oral health.

Dental decay is the single most prevalent chronic childhood disease. These cavities can form quickly, so regular checkups are imperative to maintaining healthy teeth along with proper home care. We recommend using fluoride toothpaste as soon as brushing begins. For small children, a tiny smear of toothpaste on the brush is recommended. The dental office does not need to be a scary place! We will do everything possible to make your child’s visit an enjoyable experience!

When it is time, we will also evaluate your child for orthodontics. Each individual is different, so the timing and need for braces varies widely. Click here for more info.
